Valle de la Luna, the Valley of the Moon, lies in Ischigualasto Provincial Park in San Juan Province, Argentina, and looks like the surface of another world. Its rocks hold fossils of some of the oldest dinosaurs known, from the Late Triassic, about 230 million years ago, and the park is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. By moonlight, the grey sand looks almost white, like the surface of the Moon.
